Noblesville-based Helmer Inc. said it will invest $10.6 million to build a new manufacturing and headquarters facility at the Saxony Corporate Campus near Interstate 69. It plans to add the jobs by 2014.

Noblesville-based Helmer Inc., a manufacturer of laboratory equipment and refrigerated products, announced Thursday morning that it plans to add 46 jobs by 2014 as part of a $10.6 million expansion.

The company said the investment will be used to move its operations from 14395 Bergen Blvd. to a new 137,000-square-foot manufacturing and headquarters facility nearby at the Saxony Corporate Campus near Interstate 69. Construction on the building is under way.

Helmer, which has about 150 employees in Indiana, is already hiring to fill engineering, manufacturing, marketing and sales positions.

The Indiana Economic Development Corp. said it will provide Helmer up to $300,000 in performance-based tax credits. The city of Noblesville has approved additional property-tax abatements.

Co-founded by David Helmer in 1977, the company’s refrigerators, freezers, platelet-storage, and plasma-thawing systems are shipped to customers in more than 100 countries.
