INDIANAPOLIS – Clarian Health Partners today announced its preliminary plans to bring health and wellness services to the Saxony community in Fishers, Indiana.

Clarian has 95 acres under contract on the northwest corner of the Saxony Development at I-69 and Exit 10 in Fishers, IN.  In a preliminary agreement with The Fishers Town Council and Saxony, Clarian has laid out initial plans to develop health and wellness services in the integrated community.

Clarian plans to develop the 95-acre site phases, initially bringing a fitness center, sports medicine services, a sleep center, occupational medicine services, imaging and urgent care to the Saxony community.  Additionally, Clarian will provide an ambulatory care center for outpatient medical services and medical staff offices.

Saxony is a 725-acre, mixed-use development in Hamilton County, Indiana, that includes diverse housing, multiple office districts, and distinct retail opportunities within a pedestrian-friendly, vibrant neighborhood.  Saxony is planned to feature 1 million square feet of retail, 3.5 million square feet of office/industrial space and 1,300 residential housing units.

“We are excited to be part of the Fishers community, collaborating with Saxony to provide a better and broader range of health and wellness services to local residents,” said William B. Stephan, Senior Vice President, Community Relations and Communications, Clarian Health Partners.  “This project will help distinguish Clarian and Fishers as a national model for new urbanism with fully integrated, community based health and wellness programs.  We are pleased that Saxony and the Town of Fishers have extended this opportunity to Clarian to help grow their communities.”

Clarian continues to have a positive economic impact on the communities with which it partners and expects that its Fishers presence will help add high paying jobs to this growing area as well.  In 2004, Clarian’s activities created and supported more than 23,000 jobs, and for every new job Clarian creates, an additional job is created elsewhere in the community.  Clarian’s continued collaborations and partnerships in local communities continue to infuse economic energy in these markets.

"Clarian's proposal will significantly benefit the quality of life of Fishers' residents," said Scott Faultless, president of the Fishers Town Council.  "The Town Council looks forward to working with Clarian to make their state-of-the-art health and wellness center a reality.  The investment and the quality positions it will create are consistent with the Town's long-term goals."

Clarian is committed to using the highest quality architecture to complement the vision of Fishers and the Saxony development.  Clarian will bring direct links to the physicians and hospitals that offer comprehensive and premier Level 1 trauma services at Methodist Hospital, nationally recognized cancer and transplant services at IU, nationally ranked pediatric services at Riley Hospital for Children, and premier surgical, and women’s services.

“We’re pleased Clarian has selected Saxony for this major development.  Clarian has a sterling reputation and they are great corporate citizens,” says Rick Arnos, President of Republic Development, lead developer of Saxony.  “The fusion of wellness and healthcare opportunities with active lifestyles in convenient settings appeals to healthcare consumers.  Clarian’s commitment to providing those opportunities in conjunction with Saxony’s unique offerings and convenience promises to be a winning combination.”
