Plans to develop a 280-acre chunk of the city’s corporate campus should accelerate next month with approval of design and financing packages.

The Republic Development Corp. proposal features office, industrial, distribution, warehouse, hotel, banking restaurant and retail components. Besides expected approval the June 11 meeting, a final pact on economic development incentives should also emerge.

Republic representative Sean McKinnies said the commercial effort north of I-69 will adjoin a segment planned south of I-69 in Fishers that is more residential.

“We anticipate breaking ground on the southern part this year and on the northern half this year as well,” said McKinnies. “The sooner the better.”

Mayor Dennis R. Redick said an adoption of the development plans on June 11 will allow Republic to begin construction of campus roads and utility links to individual lots. He said sites should be available to businesses next year.
