Noblesville has become the preferred destination for new business development in Hamilton County says Chris Hamm, the city's director of economic development. He credited bold vision and commitment to sound planning for the surge in the city's economic development.

“Tradition, pride, commitment, boldness, vision, these are the things that separate Noblesville,” Hamm said. “These are the things that have made Noblesville the community it is today.”

Hamm was the featured speaker for the Noblesville Chamber of Commerce June membership breakfast Wednesday at Purgatory Golf Club. Hamm said business development in a community is a reflection of the quality of life it offers. Citing studies indicating Noblesville is the state's fastest growing community and the fifth-fastest growing community of its size in the nation, Hamm credited Noblesville's vibrant downtown, quality schools and strong family environment as key factors in attracting new businesses.

Business growth has been most noticeable in the retail sector, which Hamm said follows growth in housing and availability of disposable income.

“Noblesville has been for the past couple of years one of the fastest and hottest retail developments in the state of Indiana,” Hamm said.”

Turning to progress at the 3,600-acre corporate campus, Hamm said nine businesses are already operating and another 12 are either under construction or are expected to begin construction later this year.

Next on the development horizon is the 146th Street corridor which Hamm said studies indicate will rival the Ind. 31/Merdian Street corridor for new office, medical and high tech development.
